Project Area: Educated unemployed youths from 3 hill districts
Background of taking project: Chattogram Hill Tracts region is one of the backward in respect of education regions of Percentage of literacy & per capita income is lower than the plain district of Bangladesh. In recent years the percent of unemployed educated young people are getting higher in numbers. Now the era of ICT. To develop the ICT skilled manpower. CHTDB has taken the project namely “Creation of ICT Based Skilled Manpower for Self-employment in CHT Region” with a view to educate the young men &women with the computer literacy & ICT for the betterment of the young people of the area which leads to contribute to the personal & familial income.
Number of beneficiaries: 300 educated unemployed youths & 100 selected youths for higher training & another selected 100 youths for Out-Sourcing
Objectives: i) To develop ICT Based skilled manpower. ii) To generate employment opportunity for the educated young people of CHT iii) To make scope for increasing personal & familial income.
Major Components of the Project: i)Basic Computer training. ii) Higher Computer training. iii) Out-sourcing.
Co-relation with Vision 2021, SDG 7th Five Year Plan, Perspective Plan and other short/medium/long planning: Computer & ICT skilled man power development for self-employment in Chattogram Hill Tracts region is directly related with the poverty alleviation. ICT skilled young men & women can earn a lot for their livelihood and can contribute to their family income. Increase of family or personal income can reduce the poverty which is Co-related with the Sustainable Development Goals Target No.1 i.e “End poverty in all its forms everywhere”.
